An unexpected rumour has surfaced this weekend regarding the possibility of a LEGO-themed Horizon game. In truth, the speculation is vague, and it’s not clear at this stage whether the collaboration involves a full-blown PS5 title or a physical set, similar to the one featuring the Tallneck which sold out around the world last year.
In the aftermath of some scuttlebutt on social media, Insider Gaming’s generally reliable Tom Henderson not-so subtly hinted “an announcement is on the horizon”. Perhaps showing a modicum of self-awareness, he added: “I’m not particularly fond of the ‘I know something, and you don’t’ obligatory vague insider BS. But from what I know, there's a LEGO Horizon trailer that's ready to go.”
But it’s still unclear whether this is a game or some kind of set, and there’s obviously an enormous difference between the two. A full-blown PS5 title would be surprising: LEGO has partnered with the likes of Marvel and Harry Potter, but never a first-party PlayStation franchise. It’ll be interesting to see exactly what transpires here, but we probably won’t have to wait long to find out: a livestream from Sony is being strongly speculated for later this month.

Hope it's another set, we need more Playstation Legos. In saying that a Lego Gran Turismo set is launching in a few weeks
@Vivisapprentice Is it really? I had no idea.
I'm confident this is just a new Horizon LEGO set. However, I think a full-on Horizon LEGO game would be pretty cool. I can imagine people scoffing at it, but at least it would be different from Sony's usual offerings, even if it's just visually.
Would love either. I have the tallneck and it's probably my favourite set, but I would LOVE a lego thunderjaw.
I would take a new lego set in a heartbeat. Either a thunderjaw or one of the promunent settlements.
Here's hoping it's a set and not a game - milking a game IP has always been the first step towards it's downfall...
They've already made the worst possible choices with the launch dates for Forbidden West... and for it's DLC... and for the PC port, diminishing their impact by pitting them against Elden Ring, Zelda TotK and Dragon's Dogma 2 - the franchise doesn't need more bad decisions.
What it could really benefit from, is to stay out of the spotlight for ~2-3 years, to make it's comeback with the 3rd game much more impactful.
I'd never considered a full Lego horizon game before!
I think they could make that work, the typical well observed lego humour could find plenty to work with in the world of Alloy..
Ill be happy if it’s a new game or a set or both.
@Shinnok789 Milking it? There’s been three Horizon games in seven years!
I'm more surprised that the last of us isn't the one getting a lego colab.
Weird choice. Horizon isn't a big enough franchise to get a Lego game.
Maybe it's something to do with LEGO Fortnite?
Certainly would be a weird announcement if true. I don't really know how I'd react to such a thing. I don't love the idea, but I also don't really hate it either. Guess we will wait and see.
I'd rather have a Playstation Lego game which has multiple Playstation IP's involved.
@DonkeyFantasy But... Who says no???
If true this is going to be funny.
Wonder if this game will also get hit by the Horizon curse.
I would prefer a Lego Horizon game to a remaster of the first game, that has also been rumoured. I suppose Sony would like a Horizon video game of some sort to coincide with the upcoming TV show.
kind of off topic but wasn’t there a lego harry potter game that wb games leaked last year? what happened with that?
@UltimateOtaku91 Lego PlayStation Dimensions without the plastic tat would be a great idea. That is why it will never happen.
@Malaise That’s cool, thanks for sharing!
I’m excited for whatever it is because, whenever Horizon gets slated for release, that means there’s something better launching right alongside it. I jest, of course.
Hopefully, in seriousness, this is the first leak of whatever PS Showcase is (fingers crossed) around the bend.
Not a fan of Lego games, but, done right, this could be brilliant!
I'm just here to remind everyone that the plural of Lego is... Lego.
@get2sammyb Well, if you include the two sizeable dlc’s and the MMO and multiplayer spin-offs in development (and now potentially a Lego game) there is a case to be made that the IP is being milked. My money is on the Lego set. I would love to see more PlayStation IP Lego sets. I think they could make some pretty cool Uncharted, Astrobot or Killzone sets.
As much as I would love it to be a game, I bet it will be another set or sets. The Tallneck took everyone by surprise and as mentioned in the article, sold out for a while. It was mine and readers set of the year on BricksFanz. So there is a rabid fan base who are itching for more Horizon sets, me included.
I hope it's another set. The Tallneck one is really neat, my first Lego set since Bionicle ended and I had fun building it. It also nearly perfectly matches display case my mom wanted to throw away so I'll be displaying it in that once I've fully moved out in a few weeks.
@Adwil24
I noticed this but never figured out what the reason was. It took me a while to get a hold of it but it was right before Lego increased prices across the board. I still don't really know if that was the reason for its scarcicy or if it just really was that popular of a set.
@get2sammyb
Back in the older days, that was perfectly normal!
I’m not usually a fan of Lego games but I love Horizon so naturally I’d be buying it lol
@F_T_Wolf It was popular due to having a decent price point for a licensed set plus an exclusive minifigure with new hair mould. Plus it seemed to be loved by both LEGO and PlayStation fans.
I like Horizon but between the vr game, horizon 2 and the expansion, the news of the service in the making by guerilla and the mmo by the korean dev I feel already tired of the franchise.
However, the idea of LEGO games about PS ips is something that I would like a lot so this is actually exciting news that may never happen.
Huh, I wasn't expecting a Lego Horizon game, but I think it would be a really neat idea.
Also the Lego Tallneck set that released a few years ago is the only Lego I own and it was really fun to build.
@JohntheRaptor Why isn't it a big enough franchise? It's sold more than 30 million copies. That seems big enough to me.
Day one buy for me and I’d love and play the F out of it although I’m still hoping for the rumored HZD PS5 upgrade/remaster!
@get2sammyb I'm w/ @Grumblevolcano in thinking it could be a Lego Fortnite colab. Saw a rumour of Pirates of the Caribbean in Fortnite, and PotC is perhaps coincidentally also the fall season of Disney Speedstorm after the Inside Out season, and Disney did just invest $1.5B in Epic games, so I see it at least as a possibility after Lego Fortnite Star Wars.
But it's probably just a physical toy Lego set. 🤷♂️
@Vivisapprentice there is already a grant turismo lamborgini coming.
LEGO Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision GT Gran Turismo - 76923
A game that no one asked for...if true.
Well..... we know where a minute or two of this rumored showcase is being wasted. Sounds about par for the Sony course.
Lmfao
If it means I'll get more LEGO sets then I'm all for it lol After the Tallneck release I've been hoping for more sets with even more PS properties.
I used to not into LEGO games until played LEGO 2K Drive. I start to collect LEGO games from PS2 to PS5. I will so get LEGO Horizon if they officially announce it!
@get2sammyb and there's a rumored remake of Zero Dawn, a multiplayer game, a sequel to forbidden West, and the TV show. If there's a full on LEGO game as well then we're definitely looking at a milking situation. OH!
@get2sammyb
No, you have to look at the bigger picture:
2017 - Horizon Zero dawn and it's DLC
2020 - Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition PC port
2022 - Horizon Forbidden West
2023 - Horizon Call of the mountain for VR
2023 - Horizon FW - Burning shores DLC
2023 - Horizon FW Complete edition for PS5 in October 2023
2024 - Horizon FW Complete edition for PC in March
2024 - and now a lego game (of what kind, remains to be seen).
2026? - Horizon 3, not announced but most likely work on it is already in progress.
A Horizon multiplayer game is also in the works.
And a TV show is planned for Netflix, most likely to be released with the next main game around 2026.
Consider all of the above, especially since 2022 - if that's not milking it, I don't know what is.
And my guess is that's not all that's planned...
I love the franchise, own both main games and their DLC on PS5 as well as on PC.
But I don't like the path it's on right now, especially if the Lego thing turns out to be a game... it will only serve to dilute the IP in the long run.
Do remember the original God Of War dragged down by PSP ports, Mobile game and the mediocre Ascension...
Should I add Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, Call of duty, Fifa, Need for Speed etc... all prime examples of "milking an IP to death".
Played through both Zero Dawn, and Forbidden West. A couple of times. And Frozen Wilds, Burning Shores.
The Lego thing does not appeal to me, because first and foremost it will be a “Lego” game, and not a “Horizon” game. If that makes sense.
But I would love to see Horizon 3. But it shall likely launch on the PS6 at this rate.
But I agree, I would love a remake of the Zero Dawn, for the PS5. Despite getting tired of remasters of older games, this is probably the only one that I like to play again, and again.
I could easily see this collaboration being built into Fortnite. Sony HAS invested a ton of money into their relationship with Epic. And Epic could use another premium experience within Fortnite...
@LowDefAl The could have moved the HFW launch by 1-2 months, which is not unheard of.
As for Zelda - platform doesn't matter, it's the marketing impact of a giant IP that's important. It's "shadow" covers 1-2 months before and after launch. Guerilla should have moved the DLC out of that period, to help it get some more spotlight.
Not to mention the DLC was PS5 only, while the main game was PS4/PS5... another bad decision they made when it comes to reaching good sales numbers... but that's another story.
@Shinnok789 to add insult to injury, horizon forbidden west didn't even perform that well. it sold 8.4m copies a year after launch. even if it is now at 10m+ copies, that is less than half of what zero dawn sold. in other words, forbidden west is never catching up to zero dawn and the IP isn't as strong as people think it is.
@Shinnok789 tldr horizon is new assassin's creed lol
@DonkeyFantasy You just but I'd buy that before real bloodborne2. It'll actually have story
As someone who's played both Horizon games and enjoyed them, I would prefer another franchise to get the LEGO treatment if its a videogame and not a brick set. There's so much Horizon in the pipeline whether it be the Netflix series, Horizon 3, a multiplayer co-op game and an MMO, that I personally think other franchises would benefit better from this like Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter or, better yet, a PlayStation IP team-up game. I will keep an open mind until I see gameplay though as it's still a neat way to utilize the IP and departure for PS games overall.
@get2sammyb @Malaise
Yep, thought Sony might of put this on the blog, even has GT logos on the set and box, so definitely official

Would love a new Lego set and also a Lego Horizon game.
Still trying to get hold of the Tallneck set but haven’t been able to yet
I had not at all considered Horizon as a Lego game, but now that I think about it, I actually think it could work tremendously well!
The dog ate my tall neck. 🥲 She had to jump onto sideboard to get it too.
@Shinnok789 I doubt it's a game, could very well be another set. The Tallneck set also had a reveal trailer, so this could be the same.
